Review suggested R&D claims
Use this when Flowstate tells you it has found an R&D opportunity, or regularly through the year.
You need access to R&D claims — ask your Flowstate admin.
Accept or dismiss a suggestion
- Go to Finance → R&D tax claims → Overview.
- Set the period. It opens on the current fiscal year; go back further to see suggestions for earlier years.
- Find rows at stage Suggested. Their spend is an estimate, marked est.
- Open the row and read Why this is R&D to see why Flowstate suggested it.
- To make it a claim, select Accept.
- To turn it down, open the row's menu, select Dismiss, and confirm.
What happens next
When you accept, the claim opens at Draft and Flowstate starts drafting its narrative. The project moves onto your R&D cost centre, so its cost leaves CapEx or OpEx on Capitalisation. Carry on with Build an R&D claim.
When you dismiss, the suggestion is removed. It only comes back if the project changes.
Tip
If a project isn't R&D, dismiss it rather than accepting it — accepting always moves the project's cost centre.
If something's not right
No suggestions appear. Check your default R&D framework is set and the scan has run. For earlier years, check the scan looks back far enough. See Set up R&D claims.
You can't tick a suggestion to export it. Accept it first — only claims can be exported.
The spend figure is missing. You don't have access to financial figures. Ask your Flowstate admin.
