Hybrid workforce
The Hybrid workforce tab puts everyone and everything that does the work on one bill: employees, contractors, and agents and copilots. AI is another resource beside your people. Use this tab to see what your whole workforce costs, how much of that is AI, and what changing the mix would do to both.
You need access to cost figures — ask your Flowstate admin. If the tab isn't there, ask your Flowstate contact to switch on Hybrid workforce.
Before you start
- Employees and contractors need salaries and rates. See People and teams.
- For AI spend, your AI providers need to be connected. See Connect AI providers.
Read the page
- Go to Insights → Analytics & reporting → Hybrid workforce.
- Choose the period with the period control.
- Read the sentence at the top. It says what the whole workforce costs a month, how many people that is, and how much of it is agents and copilots.
- Read the headline figures: Employees, Contractors, Agents & copilots and Total workforce cost, each compared with last year where there's data.
- Read the panels:

Agents are shown beside your people, not counted in headcount. How agents and copilots are costed is in Agents.
See what a change would cost
- Select Adjust inline.
- Move the Employees, Contractors and Agentic budget controls.
- Read the adjusted figures beside today's, such as Adjusted workforce cost and AI share.
- Select Reset to today to start again, or Close adjustment when you've finished.
Nothing you adjust here is saved, and the Who does the work table always shows today's figures.
To plan the change for real, select Save as scenario →. Flowstate creates a draft scenario named after your adjustment and opens this page inside it. The draft doesn't contain the changes you made here, so make them in the scenario, for example by adding vacancies. See Scenarios.
See what the bill produces
This tab shows what the workforce costs. It doesn't show what that work produced, or whether AI is paying for itself. For that, count an outcome with a business metric, such as contacts resolved or claims verified. The metric uses the same people and AI costs as this tab, and shows:
- how much of the work was done without a person,
- what one unit costs when AI does it and when a person does,
- whether quality held as AI took on more.

Tip
Adjust inline on this tab changes the whole bill. Model a change on a metric's page changes one piece of work. It shows the capacity released and the cash realised separately, because moving work to AI only saves money once people or spend actually change.
If something's not right
The tab is missing. Hybrid workforce isn't switched on for your organisation, or you don't have access to cost figures.
"No AI spend yet". No AI billing has come in yet. Check your AI provider connections.
The AI forecast line is blank. There isn't enough priced AI usage yet to forecast from.
"Nothing costed in this period". No employee, contractor or agent cost falls in the period. Choose a different period.
