Rearrange people in Playground

Use Playground when you're moving several people at once, such as rebalancing teams or staffing a project from more than one team, and want to see the teams and projects side by side.

You need access to change the people, contractors or vacancies you're moving — ask your Flowstate admin.

Try it in a scenario first

Each move saves as soon as you confirm it. To try moves out before they're real, open a scenario first. In a scenario, the changes you've made show a dashed border and Proposed.

Lay out the teams and projects

1. Go to Resourcing → People and teams → Playground.
2. Select Add a team, search, and choose a team. Its card shows its employees, contractors and vacancies.
3. Select Add a project, search, and choose a project. Its card shows the people on it directly, under Directly Assigned, and a section for each team on it.
4. Repeat for every team and project involved.

Playground remembers your cards for next time. The cross on a card only takes it off the screen; it doesn't change anyone's allocations.

Move someone to another team

1. Drag the person from their team's card onto the other team's card.
2. In Change Team, choose Move entirely to the target team, or Split time with the target team.
3. Set the Date of change.
4. If you're splitting their time, enter the Full-time equivalent (FTE) they'll spend on the new team.
5. Select Confirm Movement.

Move someone into a team on a project

A project's card has a section for each team on the project. Dropping someone into one of those sections moves them to that team.

1. Drag the employee, contractor or vacancy from their team's card onto a team's section inside the project's card.
2. In Change Team, choose Move entirely to the target team, or Split time with the target team.
3. Set the Date of change.
4. If you're splitting their time, enter the Full-time equivalent (FTE) they'll spend on that team.
5. Select Confirm Movement.

This changes their team only. It doesn't put them on the project directly, or change any time they already have on it. You can also drag someone from one team's section to another on the same project card.

Put someone on a project

1. Drag the employee, contractor or vacancy from their team's card onto Drag here to assign directly on the project's card.
2. In Assign to Project, enter the Full-time equivalent (FTE).
3. Set the Start Date and, if known, the End Date.
4. Select Confirm Allocation.

Playground is the place to put a vacancy on a project.

Move an employee off a project and onto a team

1. Drag the employee from the project card's Directly Assigned section onto a team's card.
2. Complete Change Team as above.
3. Select Confirm Movement.

Their time on the project ends on the date of change.

What happens next

• The cards update, and the moves show on Allocations, the project's Resourcing plan tab and the forecast.
• If you're in a scenario, review the moves alongside its other changes before it's merged. See Scenarios.

If something's not right

"People can't be moved between projects". You can't drag someone straight from one project to another. To put them on a second project, drag them from their team's card.

Nothing happens when you drop someone. Playground only supports the moves on this page. Dropping anywhere else, or onto the team someone is already in, does nothing.

"Split FTE must be between 0 and 1". The FTE starts at 1. When splitting someone's time, lower it to a share above 0 and below 1.

"Move failed". The message gives the reason. Check the date of change is within the person's employment, and that the team exists on that date.

Salaries aren't shown on the cards. You don't have access to pay.
