Claude (Anthropic)

Anthropic exposes spend through two different APIs with two different key types, and the keys are not interchangeable — an Admin key cannot call the Analytics API and vice versa. Which one you need depends on how your organisation buys Claude:

Some organisations have both — connect both tiles and Flowstate keeps the two spend streams side by side.

Anthropic API (Console) — Admin key

What syncs: per-user daily Claude Code usage from Anthropic's Claude Code Analytics API — token counts (input, output, cache) and estimated cost per model, attributed to the person's email (or the API key's name for programmatic use), plus productivity metrics (sessions, commits, pull requests).

Getting the key (you must be an organisation admin):

1. Open console.anthropic.com → Settings → Admin keys
2. Create a key — it is shown once, so copy it immediately
3. In Flowstate, open Settings → Integrations → Anthropic API (Console), paste the key and click Verify and connect — Flowstate makes one read-only call to check it works before saving anything

Claude Enterprise — Analytics key

What syncs: per-seat usage and cost from the Claude Enterprise Analytics API — token usage per person per model, and the invoiced cost behind it, across Claude products (chat, projects, Claude Code and more). Data is available from January 2026 onwards.

Getting the key (only the organisation's primary owner can do this):

1. In claude.ai, open Organisation settings → API and enable API access
2. Create an Analytics API key — it carries the read:analytics scope and the secret is shown only once
3. In Flowstate, open Settings → Integrations → Claude Enterprise, paste the key and click Verify and connect

This key reads analytics only. Flowstate never sees conversation content with it — that is exactly why it is the least-privileged way to share Claude spend.

What you'll see in Flowstate

• Spend by person — who is actually using Claude and what it costs, including people who haven't been imported as employees yet (they auto-link when you import your team).
• Spend reconciliation — Anthropic's numbers reconciled against Agent telemetry. See /ai-governance/insights/spend.
• Per-project attribution — combined with the Flowstate Agent, Claude calls are attributed to a person, project and cost centre. See Attribution.
• Model breakdown — which models your team actually uses (Opus, Sonnet, Haiku) and how the mix is shifting.
• Cost trends — daily burn so you spot a runaway script before the invoice lands.

How syncing works

• Usage syncs hourly, and the first connect backfills history automatically (Console: the Admin API's full reach; Enterprise: back to January 2026).
• Anthropic can revise recent Enterprise figures for up to 30 days — Flowstate re-fetches that window on every sync, so your numbers converge on the invoice.
• If a key stops working (rotated, revoked), the connection shows the real error from Anthropic on its provider page. Use Replace key on that connection to paste a new one — the history stays.
