Operating model and departments

Use Settings → Resourcing → Operating Model to show initiatives, projects and objectives under the names your organisation already uses — for example "Programme" instead of "Initiative". Departments, in the same menu, keeps your list of department names.

You need access to resourcing settings to change these. Ask your Flowstate admin.

Rename initiatives, projects and objectives

1. Go to Settings → Resourcing → Operating Model.
2. Under Entity terminology, find the row for Initiative, Project or Objective.
3. Type the new name in Singular and Plural — for example "Programme" and "Programmes".
4. Select Save.

To go back to the standard name, clear both fields and select Save. You can leave Operating-model preset as it is.

The new names appear on the roadmap — the portfolio, the projects list, initiative side panels and objective pages — and in the headings of the team timesheet.

Tip

The new names show for everyone, whatever language they use Flowstate in.

Keep your list of departments

1. Go to Settings → Resourcing → Departments.
2. Select Add Department.
3. Enter a Name, which must be different from your other departments, and an optional Description.
4. Leave Active ticked, and select Create.

To change a department, select Edit on its row. To remove one, select Delete, then Delete again to confirm.

Tip

Departments are a list of names. People, teams and projects aren't linked to them. To show how your organisation is structured, use parent teams in People and teams or functional groups.
