Agent install (self-install)

This guide walks you through installing the Flowstate Agent on your own machine. You sign in with your work email; the device flow handles authentication. There is no key to copy or paste.

Your IT team may instead deploy the agent through MDM. If your device is managed, the agent arrives silently and you can skip straight to Verify.

Before you start

  • Use your work email, the one your Flowstate account uses. It is how your sessions are attributed to you.
  • You do not need any provider API keys. The agent captures traffic from the AI tools you already use.

Step 1 - Install the agent

Start from Settings → AI → Cloud Proxy in Flowstate, or from the link your IT team shared. Follow the install page for your operating system:

Step 2 - Sign in

Launch the agent. It opens a sign-in prompt in your browser. Approve it with your work email. The agent then obtains its own revocable per-device credential and mints its own proxy tokens. You never handle a key.

Step 3 - Grant the OS permissions

Your operating system asks for permission before the agent can observe AI traffic. On macOS, approve the two prompts when they appear: Allow the network extension, and Allow the one-time certificate trust prompt. See the per-OS install pages above for platform specifics.

Verify

Use any AI tool as you normally would (Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor, claude.ai). Within a few minutes your sessions appear in My AI → My sessions in Flowstate. Admins see fleet-wide sessions under Insights → Agent insights → Agent sessions.
